Primary Care Dermoscopy Workshop 1:    Duration - 1 day

COURSE SUMMARY:

Aimed at: GP's, GP Registars, GPwSI in Dermatology and Skin Surgery.

Level: Aimed as an introductory course in the use of dermoscopy as an adjunct in management of skin lesions.

Course Details: A one day skills workshop with intensive training; combining both theory and practical hands on. Caters for beginners and intermediate level GP's. Intensive guidance on the use of dermoscopy to help recognise skin lesions. Teaching is delivered in small group informal theory and practical sessions.

Accommodation: Substantially reduced rates have been secured for accommodation at the luxury Malmaison Hotel during the course. This dermoscopy course is ideally suited to GP’s / GPSI’s and GP registrar’s. All aspects of dermoscopy will be covered from theory, indications, role, scope and limitations, product selection and training. The Primary Care Dermoscopy Workshop 1 is an introductory course in dermoscopy aimed at the beginner. Further advanced courses will follow for the competent dermoscopist who wishes to simply update his/her skills.

The course is being held in the luxury boutique Malmaison Hotel in the heart of Birmingham  This is a part of the ‘Mailbox’ complex with its designer stores and chic bars/cafés. It is said to be 'Birmingham’s answer to Oxford street!’ The Malmaison Hotel has its own leisure club and health/beauty spa (ref  www.malmaison-birmingham.com).

Accommodation must be booked directly with the hotel 'in-house reservations department' on 0121 246 5000 quoting Primary Care Training Academy and Miss Diane Vukovich to secure preferential course delegate rates (£99pppn B&B! or £109 B&B Double Occupancy – normally £160 Room Only). The course starts on Friday morning, and closes at tea-time . The course is informal and sociable. The course consists of both theory and practical sessions.  A full range of current dermatoscopes will be available to try out.
